Scholarship Application
We invest in the education of deserving students in Jamaica. If you need support to continue your schooling, we'd love to hear from you.
How We Select Recipients
Every application is reviewed fairly and objectively. Awards are based on a student's PEP (Primary Exit Profile) results, financial need, and personal potential — not on who you know.
Academic Readiness (PEP)
We look at your PEP performance levels — Highly Proficient, Proficient, Developing, or Beginning — across Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and the Performance Task. Strong results help, but genuine need and potential matter too.
Financial Need
Scholarships go to students who truly need support to stay in school. We consider household income, the number of dependents, and any special hardship in your family's circumstances.
Character & Potential
A reference from a teacher or principal, together with your personal statement, helps us understand your goals, determination, and the difference this opportunity would make.
The selection process
- Apply — complete the form below and include your PEP results, proof of enrollment, and a reference.
- Review — our Scholarship Committee scores every application on academics, need, and potential, using the same criteria for everyone.
- Award — the Board approves recipients, and funds go toward tuition, books, uniforms, and learning needs — wherever possible paid directly to your school.
- Continue — current recipients keep their award each year by remaining in good academic standing.
The Thelma Ellis Sixteen Foundation, Inc. selects recipients on an objective, non‑discriminatory basis — without regard to race, color, national or ethnic origin, sex, age, disability, or religion. We are committed to opening doors for bright students who need a hand to reach their potential.
